How to remove OEM logos from Windows Vista
If you are like me I hate seen the OEM brand logo in the media center screen or any other part of the OS. here is how you can remove that OEM logo from Windows Vista.
there’s various places you can find the OEM logo
* Welcome Center
* Media Center
* System Information (Control panel)
To remove it from the System Information screen
run Regedit - press Star -> type regedit -> press Enter
In Regedit look for the key: logo in ->
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ OEMInformation]
and in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat\WindowsExperienceIndexOemInfo]
you can delete the logo Key or if you want to display your custom logo just edit the key value to point to another file you created.
To remove it from the Media Center Screen
In Regedit look for the key: OEMLogoUri in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Start Menu]
To remove it from the Welcome screen go to
C:\Windows\System32\oobe\INFO
locate the file ‘ OOBE.xml ‘ right-click on it and open with WordPad
locate the line that said
<oemLogo xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/windows/oobetasks/v1'>
\windows\system32\oobe\Dell_bar.png</oemLogo>
*this sample is for the Dell_bar.png logo.
just delete the line or edit it make your own logo and point the path to it

* Note on custom Logo
System information logo needs to be in *.BMP format and 120×120px in dimension.
The Welcome screen logo need to be *.PNG transparent background and around 250×30 because of the space.
The Media Center Logo is *.PNG format, transparent background and around 120×120px .

When I save it, it says that I have the wrong file path and file name. Any ideas?
